| | harris tweed: a mixed color contrast |
| M.E. Chevreul comes to mind when describing the richness of woven fabrics. As the Director of the Dye Works for the Manufacture des Gobelins, a textile factory, in Paris, France (mid 1800's), Chevreul, an organic chemist, understand how colors interact and are relative to their surroundings. His observations and writings helped explain to the Gobelins textile workers the unpredictability of yarn colors.
